Bank Mandiri expands mATM services in cooperation with Indosat
Jakarta, October 5, 2005
After the launching of mobile ATM (mATM) service with Telkomsel in June 2005, Bank Mandiri, together with PT Indosat Tbk, is preparing to expand the service, which is scheduled to be launched in November 2005.
According to Head e-Banking & Debit Department of PT Bank Mandiri, Inkawan D.Jusi, "Today, the mATM service in Indosat is at the Testing phase." Though it is still on the early stage, the Indosat management team is optimistic that the mATM service will be ready to be implemented soon. (Bisnis Indonesia, October 5, 2005)
Bank Mandiri and PT Indosat agree to expand mobile ATM (mATM) and mobile Tronic (m-Tronic) services in order to get more mobile commerce business opportunities.
mATM services offer Bank Mandiri and PT Indosat customers to withdraw cash, pay bills, and purchase goods directly from their account, effectively and efficiently, through any participating merchant with an mATM Logo inside the shop.
Furthermore, m-Tronic services allow Indosat's dealer and reseller, who must also be Bank Mandiri's customers, to sell Indosat Prepaid Refill voucher using their own mobile phone.
"With this solution, it will definitely improve the quality of customer services in providing an effective and an efficient Prepaid Refill service of Indosat cellular network", said Hasnul Suhaimi, Director of PT Indosat.
