The mATM Payment service is intended as an alternate payment method for consumers to pay for their cash purchases.

The mATM Payment will be debited from the buyer’s account and credited to the merchant’s account online and in real-time by the designated settlement bank. Both the buyer and the merchant must use an mATM-enabled or MPOS-enabled mobile phone to pay and accept payments using mATM Payments respectively.

The mATM Payment service supports both buyer-initiated and merchant-initiated payment transaction. In buyer-initiated payments, buyer will use the ‘Payments’ facility on the mATM menu to send their bank an instruction to debit their account to pay the merchant identified by the merchant’s mATM Merchant Number.

In merchant-initiated payments, the merchants will use the ‘Purchase’ facility on MPOS menu to send an instruction to the bank to debit the buyer’s account. The buyer involved in the transaction will be identified by his/her mobile number.
